While up in North Jersey for my son’s piano competition (and he rocked it by the way, thanks for asking), we decided to meet up with some friends at The Office in Montclair to get a bite to eat. According to their menu, they have a couple different styles of sauce for the wings: Buffalo, Fireball, Southwest Sweet Heat, Ginger Teriyaki, and Arrogant Bastard BBQ Sauce. You know me, I always tend to stick to the Buffalo style sauces to keep (read more…)

The Office Beer Bar & Grill
Sunday, March 24th, 2013The Famished Frog
Wednesday, March 20th, 2013While up in North Jersey for St. Patrick’s Day weekend, we stumbled across a place in Morristown called The Famished Frog. I found this fitting because a frog is green which is perfect for this particular holiday, AND I was indeed famished, so it just made sense. We were seated in the restaurant side seeing how my son was with us, but you could hear all the fun goings-on in the bar area with everyone celebrating in classic St. Paddy’s fashion. While in one of these bars, I met some people who told me that the wings I was currently eating were crap, and if I wanted some great ones, then I needed to check out a bar called The Rock on Main Ave. That, coupled with a slew of Suggest a Joint requests from Jamie, Tony, and Aileen, made me feel that I would be missing out if I didn’t get my butt in there to try them for myself. So the next time I was up that way, that is exactly what I did.
The Rock Bar & Grill is a small place that has a typical “neighborhood bar” look and feel with an everyone-knows-everyone kind of vibe. We arrived at lunch time so (read more…)
Sharky’s
Saturday, August 4th, 2012I find myself up in North Jersey from time to time visiting either friends or family, and when I’m up that way I seem to have trouble finding a good place to get some wings. So you can imagine my excitement when I heard of a place in Clifton, called Sharky’s, that claim to have “World Famous Wings.”
Some friends and I stopped by this hole in the wall around lunch time, or in my case breakfast, to see what made their wings “World Famous.” From the outside, it didn’t look like much, BUT from the inside… (read more…)
