Wings Over Farmingdale

Monday, April 8th, 2013

While up in Long Island again for yet ANOTHER trip, I was traveling down Main Street in Farmingdale and I started to get an urge for some wings. Could it be that I just passed Croxley’s Ale House and have eaten their wings before? Very possible. But just a couple of doors down was yet another wing joint with a crazy ass sign that read “Wings Over Farmingdale.” So, I parked the car and headed in to see what it was all about.

Croxley’s Ale House & Eatery

Friday, April 5th, 2013

At one time or another when I tell someone that I have been on Long Island and they know about my wing obsession, they usually come back with “Have you ever had Croxley’s wings?” Naturally, when I found myself up that way once more, I figured I’d stop in so that the next time I’m asked the same question I can respond “…uh yeah, who hasn’t?”

So when it came down to me grabbing some wings in the “Capital of the World,” I was looking forward to it. (read more…)

Anchor vs Duff’s

Through time there have been many great competing restaurants that keep their loyal customers battling it out to prove which one has the best product. In Philly if you are looking for a great cheesesteak there is either Geno’s or Pat’s, for a real Chicago deep dish pizza in Chicago it will be Pizzeria Uno or Lou Malnati’s, and if you find yourself in Buffalo chasing after some great wings there are only two names that stand in the forefront: Anchor Bar and Duff’s Famous Wings.

There is no debate as to which wing eatery started serving the Buffalo sensation first (read more…)

Bar Bill Tavern

Thursday, September 27th, 2012

During our weekend in Buffalo for the 2012 National Buffalo Festival, we had our fill of wings. Wings for breakfast, wings for lunch, wings for dinner. I know it sounds crazy, but when you love wings as much as I do and you are in the Buffalo wing capital of the world, you have to soak up as much as you can before that seven hour drive home. And seeing how the car was all fueled up, the only thing left to do was fuel up the bellies. So I took the advice of Mark from Wy’s Wings (a Buffalo native), and headed over to Bar Bill Tavern to get some quality grub.

Located in East Aurora, just on (read more…)
