I find myself up in North Jersey from time to time visiting either friends or family, and when I’m up that way I seem to have trouble finding a good place to get some wings. So you can imagine my excitement when I heard of a place in Clifton, called Sharky’s, that claim to have “World Famous Wings.”

Some friends and I stopped by this hole in the wall around lunch time, or in my case breakfast, to see what made their wings “World Famous.” From the outside, it didn’t look like much, BUT from the inside… (read more…)

Miller’s NJ Ale House

Sunday, July 29th, 2012

Miller’s Ale Houses have been springing up around the Florida area since 1988 and just started to make their way up North. One such location just opened up on Rt. 73 in Mount Laurel, so I had to stop in to see what kind of food they had on the menu… and what kind of wings. I decided to grab the family one Saturday and pay them a visit during lunch time to get some grub, and noticed that Miller’s Ale House is very similar to a Friday’s type of chain with its relaxed atmosphere. The only difference is that the Ale House has more (read more…)

Union Jack’s Pub

Saturday, July 14th, 2012

I was back in Bryn Mawr for work and when I said that I was heading into Manayunk to get some wings, Dave suggested that there was only one place I needed to go – Union Jack’s Pub. Union Jack’s is known in the area for having great wings, and with a sign on the outside wall that says “World’s Best Wings,” they must know what they’re doing as that’s a big claim to fill. I parallel parked my car on a hill into a tight spot (which by the way is hard to do with a manual), and walked into this small dive of a place.

I was the only patron in the joint, but the two gentlemen who worked there made me feel right at (read more…)

Dubh Linn Square

I’m a big fan of déjà vu, so it’s very suiting that I found myself in the very spot where Bring The Wing began. It was October of 2011 when my wife and I were kid-free for the weekend. We decided that being sans kids allowed us to go out to some bars that we had been dying to try, one of which was Dubh Linn Square in Cherry Hill. While there, my wife asked how the wings were, as she normally does because she knows that this is how I judge a good pub. I started in on my critique and then began to think how great it would be to allow others access to the knowledge that my wife has always been privy to… and after a collaboration between the two of us – Bring The Wing was born.

Now let’s journey to the present time where (read more…)

The Grog

Thursday, June 28th, 2012

While in Bryn Mawr for work, I was getting pretty hungry and happened to notice a pub a block away named “The Grog.” From what I read online, the wings were supposed to be great, and although it wasn’t Wing Night, I decided to stop in to check it out anyway.

I walked into this small pub, ordered up a $2 bottle of Coors (which is awesome by itself), looked at the menu and noticed the following: “One pound of our award winning jumbo wings…” This always gets me excited because I feel that they are looking to make wing eaters like me happy. There are a lot of false claims like that in many wing places, so we shall see what today brings.

The Grog offers up a variety of wings (read more…)
