Flanagan’s Pub

Friday, November 16th, 2012

I was out in Reading again for work, and being that I had a bad experience at the Peanut Bar last time I visited Berks County, I decided to branch out and see where else I can go to rustle up some good wings. Dinner time was just around the corner, and out of a couple of choices, we ultimately decided on Flanagan’s in Shillington – which as luck would have it turned out to be wing night.

Flanagan’s is a local corner bar where, just like “Cheers”, everybody knew each other’s names. This low lit bar is a nice little chatty-hang-out with friendly bartenders, has Wing Night every (read more…)

Recently I received a Suggest a Joint from John who said that I should stop in and try the wings over at Racks Restaurant and Sports Bar in Atco, NJ. He’s been following my reviews, has very similar tastes, and was curious of my thoughts on the subject. I hate to disappoint a reader and I love eating wings, so it was a very easy decision for me to grab the family and swing in for a nice lunch on a beautiful Friday afternoon.

First off, let me just say that this is an awesome bar. The place is a decent size and felt very roomy with tons of fun bar things (shuffleboard, pool, TVs, etc) to occupy your time, when you are not eating wings of course. It’s open seating (read more…)

If you don’t know what Hooters is, you are absolutely living under a boulder, or in this case – two boulders. This place is widely known for their wonderfully busty waitresses with their scantily clad outfits serving you food and beer during the big game. It is also widely known for having some of the best wings, but this is up to speculation.

Every time I get into a conversation about wings with a group of people, there is always someone who goes on and on about Hooters’ wings and how incredible they are. With the talk of boobs, wings, and beer, it didn’t take much arm twisting (read more…)

Landmark Americana

I was down in Glassboro not too long ago doing some work with the EMS when my stomach made it perfectly clear that it was lunch time. Not only that, but it apparently had already made a deal with my taste buds and together had decided what we were having… so here comes the cravings. WWWWIIINNGS!!! When those cravings come calling I assure you that I answer, and I answer swiftly. Being that I was out of town, I relied on Bob, who was from the area, to direct me to get some good grub which for him seemed like an easy decision: The Landmark Americana.

The Landmark Americana, as it turns out, is a small chain of Restaurant/Bars that are scattered around the Philadelphia area and boast good and natural food with (read more…)

The Rock Bar & Grill

I have been up in the Clifton area a lot lately due to work or friends, so I’ve been using this opportunity to bounce around the local bar scene to see what kind of wings they have up in North Jersey. While in one of these bars, I met some people who told me that the wings I was currently eating were crap, and if I wanted some great ones, then I needed to check out a bar called The Rock on Main Ave. That, coupled with a slew of Suggest a Joint requests from Jamie, Tony, and Aileen, made me feel that I would be missing out if I didn’t get my butt in there to try them for myself. So the next time I was up that way, that is exactly what I did.

The Rock Bar & Grill is a small place that has a typical “neighborhood bar” look and feel with an everyone-knows-everyone kind of vibe. We arrived at lunch time so (read more…)
