The Good Dog Bar is not only known for its multiple framed photos of dogs on every wall, but also for its cleverly adapted food. Featured on Food Network’s Diners, Drive-ins and Dives, Good Dog Bar takes comfort foods to another level with such items as Duck Pot Pie and Baked Mac & Cheese. So needless to say, I’m excited to see what they have done to elevate the classic Buffalo wing. (read more…)

Monday, February 25th, 2013Hooters
Wednesday, October 24th, 2012If you don’t know what Hooters is, you are absolutely living under a boulder, or in this case – two boulders. This place is widely known for their wonderfully busty waitresses with their scantily clad outfits serving you food and beer during the big game. It is also widely known for having some of the best wings, but this is up to speculation.
Every time I get into a conversation about wings with a group of people, there is always someone who goes on and on about Hooters’ wings and how incredible they are. With the talk of boobs, wings, and beer, it didn’t take much arm twisting (read more…)
Dave & Buster’s
Saturday, September 29th, 2012Anyone who’s anyone in the Philadelphia area has heard of Dave & Buster’s. For those of you who haven’t, they are a pretty big chain of sports bars that offer food, drinks, and games for adults. Feel like playing pool or shuffleboard? How about a game of Pac-Man? They have it all. And, the best part is… You can be drunk while playing them, ’cause let’s face it, games are much more entertaining when you are only using half of your brain.
Dave & Buster’s restaurants are located in many large cities such as New York, San Diego, and Chicago, but my wife and I took a trip to our nearby Philly location to get some wings and have some fun. We sat down, grabbed a drink (or two), and looked over the menu to see what wingalicious (read more…)
Union Jack’s Pub
Saturday, July 14th, 2012I was back in Bryn Mawr for work and when I said that I was heading into Manayunk to get some wings, Dave suggested that there was only one place I needed to go – Union Jack’s Pub. Union Jack’s is known in the area for having great wings, and with a sign on the outside wall that says “World’s Best Wings,” they must know what they’re doing as that’s a big claim to fill. I parallel parked my car on a hill into a tight spot (which by the way is hard to do with a manual), and walked into this small dive of a place.
I was the only patron in the joint, but the two gentlemen who worked there made me feel right at (read more…)
The Grog
Thursday, June 28th, 2012While in Bryn Mawr for work, I was getting pretty hungry and happened to notice a pub a block away named “The Grog.” From what I read online, the wings were supposed to be great, and although it wasn’t Wing Night, I decided to stop in to check it out anyway.
I walked into this small pub, ordered up a $2 bottle of Coors (which is awesome by itself), looked at the menu and noticed the following: “One pound of our award winning jumbo wings…” This always gets me excited because I feel that they are looking to make wing eaters like me happy. There are a lot of false claims like that in many wing places, so we shall see what today brings.
The Grog offers up a variety of wings (read more…)
