Kislings

On my way back from the DC area, I made it a point to swing into Baltimore to try out the Kisling’s Tavern’s wings. I have been hearing only great things about them, and with the numerous awards for “best wings,” this place had me excited to give them a try.

Now the first thing I want to say is how nice the harbor side of Baltimore was, not only with (read more…)

Schileens

Having a free kid-less night is a blessing, and when the in-laws come down to offer such a service, the wife and I don’t ask questions, we just bolt out the door. But to where? Good thing I have my handy dandy list that’s compiled from our “Suggest a Joint” section to lead the way. So, I crack it open and see that Marty, Kenny, and Katrina all think that the place to grab great wings is at their local pub called Schileens. Only one way to know for sure, so we head down to Westville to see what’s on the menu wing-wise.

Schileens offers Mild, Hot, Garlic, BBQ, Honey Mustard, or their (read more…)

RustyBarrel

I was down near Atlantic City for work, and on my way back I passed through Egg Harbor City which has a neighborhood bar that’s known for their wings. Now when I say neighborhood bar, I mean it. The Rusty Barrel is located on the corner of St. Louis and Buerger smack dab in the middle of houses, not strip malls or parking lots, but actual houses. This is great if you live nearby and frequent the joint because you would never have to find a designated driver. This is definitely my kind of bar.

I walk in the door and couldn’t find a seat because (read more…)

Dominics

“Suggest a Joint” has hit again, and this time with a vengeance as my inbox was flooded with emails telling me that I needed to get down to Dominic’s Tavern in Bellmawr. And when a suggestion comes in (or in this case a multitude of suggestions from Dan, Michele, Marty, and Mark to name a few), I make sure I answer that call. So I grabbed some friends and headed down to Dominic’s to try them out for myself.

We got down there on a Friday night and the place was packed. Everyone was having a great time around the bar, and the people seated in the dining area were all involved (read more…)

Anchor vs Duff’s

Sunday, December 9th, 2012

Through time there have been many great competing restaurants that keep their loyal customers battling it out to prove which one has the best product. In Philly if you are looking for a great cheesesteak there is either Geno’s or Pat’s, for a real Chicago deep dish pizza in Chicago it will be Pizzeria Uno or Lou Malnati’s, and if you find yourself in Buffalo chasing after some great wings there are only two names that stand in the forefront: Anchor Bar and Duff’s Famous Wings.

There is no debate as to which wing eatery started serving the Buffalo sensation first (read more…)
